JICC - Student Conduct on Buses
ParentsThe arelaw responsibledoes fornot relieve parents/guardians of students from the supervisionresponsibility of their childsupervision before the child boards the bus in the morning and after the child leaves the bus at the end of the school day.
The Board expects children to conduct themselves at the bus stop in a manner consistent with the student code of conduct.
Once a child boards the bus,bus—and he/sheonly becomesat that time—does the child become the responsibility of M.S.A.D.the #35.school system. Such responsibility shall end when the child is delivered to the designatedregular bus stop at the close of the school day.
TheIn view of the fact that a bus is an extension of the classroom, the Board expectsrequires children to conduct themselves at the bus stop and onin the bus in a manner consistent with schoolestablished andstandards busfor rulesclassroom and the Student Code of Conduct.behavior.
In cases when a child does not conduct him/herselfthemselves properly on a bus or at a bus stop,bus, such instances are to be brought to the attention of the building principalPrincipal by the bus driver. The building principalPrincipal will inform parentsthe parents/guardians immediately of the misconduct and request their cooperation in correctingchecking the child’s behavior.
StudentsChildren who become a serious disciplinary problem on the school bus may have their riding privileges suspended by the building principal.Principal. In such cases, the parentsparents/guardians of the children involved become responsible for seeing that their children get to and from school safely.
